Bollywood star and internationally recognized comedian Vir Das is about to release his first special aimed mostly at American audiences; titled Abroad Understanding, the special is out on Netflix later this month.
Das, who’s toured the globe with his stand-up and is one of India’s top comic actors, chose to do something really special with this latest hour, something completely unique: he filmed it over two shows, across the globe from one another. Abroad Understanding blends two performances – one for a crowd of 11,000 in his native New Delhi, and one in an intimate 200-seat New York City club, so that, like Das, this special bridges the gap between two very different worlds.
Abroad Understanding hits Netflix on April 25th.
