Chappelle, check. Rock, check. Schumer, check. And now, according to a Facebook post from opening act Mark Normand, we can now add Louis C.K. to the list of comedians providing us a new Netflix special.
Normand’s post reads, “Wooo baby! We’re opening for Louie’s Netflix special all weekend but Joe List and I are gonna break away tonight and run to the The Big Hunt for our own cute show! We’d love it if you came by. Also, you never know who else will pop in… Chocolate city!”
This is big news. If it hasn’t been made clear already, all the big dogs in the comedy world are flocking to Netflix to release their respective specials. Chappelle is on the docket for three of them and has reportedly racked up a 60 million dollar payout to do so. Rock also is getting a nice reward in a reported 40 million dollar deal for two. Schumer, as of now, is signed on to do just one which will premiere on March 7th.
We can only imagine how much CK will be given for his. He’s been operating on such an independent level for quite some time now and is at the top of the mountain when it comes to comedy names. Don’t worry Kevin Hart, you are 1A, right next to CK. Speaking of Hart, could he be next? He has taken the theatrical route with his last few specials, is Netflix next?
Here’s the actual post from Mark Normand this morning. Louis CK’s tour dates on his site do read DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC January 12 – 14. There is no official word from Netflix as of yet. Tickets for the shows are available here.
