Tracy Morgan visited Stephen Colbert over at The Late Show, and while the two may be old pals, Morgan doesn’t remember quite as many details about their friendship as Colbert does.
The Late Show host recalled that, in 1996, he and Morgan attended the same callback session for Saturday Night Live. One of them ended up getting it, and the other… well, he ended up doing alright for himself, but he remembers how it felt to see Morgan – now one of SNL’s most memorable cast members – back before he was on the show, joking that they were obviously “too alike” to both get cast. Morgan, unsurprisingly, has zero recollection of this event.
Morgan was on the show promoting his new stand-up special, Staying Alive
– his first since the 2014 accident that kept him offstage for quite some time.
