Nick Offerman is at SXSW, promoting two new films — comedies Infinity Baby and The Hero — and the actor / writer took some time off from the red carpet to answer some questions about his unique career.
When asked if he had any writing advice for all the creative types out there, Offerman (dressed in a “Legalize Texas” tee) had some very Austin-y advice:
“Whatever is weird about you… your weird sense of humor you create with your siblings or friends when you’re a kid… don’t ever lose that.”
Basically, he sums up: stay funky.
It’s good advice from a man who seems to call all the shots in his own career, choosing pet projects like Broadway plays and indies that co-star his wife, Megan Mullally, over most other offers these days.
