This year’s lineup for the Brooklyn Comedy Festival features performances by Myq Kaplan, Monroe Martin, Wyatt Cenac, Aparna Nancherla, Dan Soder, Joe Pera, Jo Firestone, Hari Kondabolu, Josh Gondelman, Joe List, Joel Kim Booster, Julie Klausner, Sasheer Zamata, Reformed Whores, Vanessa Bayer, Sean Donnelly, and so many more!
The first half of the six-night Brooklyn Comedy Festival features special editions of Brooklyn comedy staples like Night Train at Littlefield in Gowanus, Broken Comedy at Bar Matchless in Greenpoint, Backfat at 61 Local in Cobble Hill, Dan + Joe + Charles Show at The Shanty in Williamsburg, and the Sixth Anniversary of Cheap Date at Union Hall in Park Slope.
Wednesday night shows will include a charity event in collaboration with We Bee Spelling at Union Pool and a special rooftop show at The William Vale hotel in Williamsburg.
The IFC Comedy Road Tour makes a stop in Brooklyn to kick off the weekend schedule with a two-night run at The Bell House in Gowanus. Thursday night’s show will feature Julie Klausner and friends, followed by a double-header on Friday hosted by Vanessa Bayer. IFC will then head over to Knitting Factory on Saturday night for their Comedy Crib Showcase.
Saturday’s closing night will also feature a double-header at the Music Hall of Williamsburg featuring Reggie Watts, Jena Friedman, Michelle Buteau, and music by The Gotham Easy. Tickets for the Music Hall of Williamsburg shows are on sale now HERE (7pm early show) and HERE (10pm late show).
The Saturday evening shows will be preceded by a handful of daytime events, including free panels in the front room of the Knitting Factory and the first half of the Brooklyn Comedy Festival: SHORTS film festival in partnership with Kickstarter at Nitehawk Cinemas. SHORTS concludes on Sunday afternoon at Nitehawk. Tickets on sale HERE.
This year the Brooklyn Comedy Festival is introducing some new elements, including a children’s workshop on Friday afternoon at 826NYC in Park Slope and a limited amount of $99 VIP festival badges for sale. Attendees who purchase VIP badges will receive perks such as access to the swimming pool at The William Vale hotel and guaranteed entry to VIP parties and happy hours throughout the week.
