Following an arrest last week in New Jersey for, among other things, possession of heroin, comedian Artie Lange claims he’s been fired from HBO show Crashing.
As Page Six reports, on Thursday Lange visited the Len Berman Todd Schmidt in the Morning radio show, where he opened up about his recent success and arrest.
During the discussion, he mentioned that he’d just been fired from Crashing, Pete Holmes’ mostly-autobiographical show that’s being produced by Judd Apatow.
“Since this HBO show ‘Crashing’ premiered, which I just got fired from,” Lange said, “I might go to jail… I’ve had a lot of success and a lot of happy times, but when I do the failure stuff… that’s all TMZ wants to talk about, and they get it out there and I lose my job. That’s what happens. [Crashing] was the one time critics actually liked what I did. Well, that’s the last time you’ll see it.”
Lange’s exit from the show comes as a surprise, after Apatow posted a message of support immediately after news of the arrest broke:
