Bernie Mac’s family, including his wife Rhonda McCullough Gilmore, his daughter Je’Neice McCullough, and Mac’s granddaughter Jasmine stopped by The Steve Harvey Show to talk about the Bernie Mac Foundation which was set up in his memory to combat the disease that attacked his lungs and eventually took his life, Sarcoidosis.

Another legendary comedian, Mike Epps, joins the conversation via satellite, live from Bernie and Rhonda’s alma mater, the Chicago Vocational High School on the Southside of Chicago. As a surprise to Mac’s family, Mike Epps and the principal of the school reveal that the auditorium will be renamed in Bernie’s honor.

And, since Mac was a Chicagoan through and through, Harvey revealed that Mayor Rahm Emanuel proclaimed November 14th, as “Bernie Mac Day” in Chicago.
