Congratulations to Bobby Moynihan, who was just cast in CBS comedy pilot My, Myself, and I – and condolences to Saturday Night Live fans torn between wanting to see more Moynihan, and not wanting to lose one of the sketch show’s strongest players (not just now, like, ever).
Me, Myself, and I focuses on the life of Dan Riley “over a 50-year spanIt focuses on three distinct periods in his life — as a 14-year-old in 1991, a 40-year-old in present day and a 65-year-old in 2042.” Moynihan is set to star as present-day Dan, an inventor struggling to get over a creative block.
There’s no need to panic just yet, SNL die-hards – Me, Myself, and I still just has a pilot order. But the series sounds pretty cool, and Moynihan can make any role (even a dancing skeleton) into something great, so there’s a good chance it’ll get a pickup.
As The Hollywood Reporter notes, in recent years stars Andy Samberg, Nasim Pedrad, and Will Forte all left the show in favor of promising new series.
Whatever happens, we’ll end up seeing Moynihan onscreen each week, so really it’s a win-win situation.
