“Those Who Can’t” adds comedian Lisa Best to the writer’s room

truTV hit comedy Those Who Can’t is starting production on its third season, and they’re adding a new writer to the mix: comedian Lisa Best. Those Who Can’t co-creator Ben Roy – one-third of the Grawlix, the comedy team behind the hit sitcom made up of Roy and fellow Denver natives Andrew Orvedahl and Adam Cayton-Holland – tweeted the news this week: Best was recently featured on Vice’s standup showcase Flophouse, and co-hosted the Travel Channel’s Cheat Day Chowdown alongside Dave Stone (she also appears in the comics’ upcoming Netflix doc, Gutbuster). A former regular on Syfy’s Fangasm, she co-wrote and co-starred in web series “The Apartment.” Her debut album, Brain Bank, is out now. A lovable and unfailingly energetic performer , Best has been lauded by Portland Monthly for possessing “a flair for turning embarrassing stories into comedy gold,” a skill that will surely serve her well on a show that exposes the secret, awkward lives of high school administrators. Here’s Best is on the late, great Meltdown show: The third season of Those Who Can’t won’t premiere til later this year, but you can binge the full first season on Hulu anytime.
