Judd Apatow has officially entered the unique landscape that is Chris Gethard. According to Deadline, Apatow will be presenting the off-Broadway debut of Chris Gethard: Career Suicide. Fresh off his return from Edinburgh Fringe Fest, Gethard put his show on display 26 times. During Career Suicide, the comedian performs an hour of stand-up focusing on suicide, alcoholism, and all the other funniest parts of life.

Apatow reading Gethard book“I think the show is hilarious but it is also about a topic that a lot of people are struggling with and are ashamed to talk about,” said Apatow. “I had an instinct that what Chris is doing will have a big impact on people as well as entertain them. As soon as I saw it I asked Chris if I could help in any way.” Apatow has been an admirer of Gethard for some time now. Here is a pic of him reading Gethard’s book that he tweeted out in early 2012.

You may know Gethard from his cult hit talk show The Chris Gethard Show, or as Ilana’s boss Todd on Broad City, or from his recent appearance in the critically praised “12 Angry Men” Inside Amy Schumer sketch. He can currently be seen in the theaters in Mike Birbiglia’s latest film Don’t Think Twice.
