Robert DeNiro’s latest flick, The Comedian is now in stores. It’s the story of an aging insult comedian still in the game. Through his antics he meets a woman (Leslie Mann) a woman 30 years younger than him. He brings her into his world, knocking around NYC comedy clubs.
It’s a pretty solid nod to The King Of Comedy, without maybe the manic nature. For this film, DeNiro spent many weeks down in the Village with some of New York’s best comedians to learn the skill and it paid off. Danny DeVito, Edie Falco, Billy Crystal, Harvey Keitel, JJ Walker, and Jessica Kirson also star. Pick it up.
