Today marks a big day for one of our favorite comedians, Big Jay Oakerson. The king of the dirty joke returns for a second crowd work album called I Promised Myself I Wouldn’t Ask and a follow-up to his 2014 crowd work effort.
Oakerson set up shop at the Comedy Cellar at the Village Underground and recorded this new record, which got its name about halfway through a searing hour where Oakerson jumps around the room, raw, outrageous, and whipping incredibly funny material up on the spot just by finding out some info about the crowd in front of him. It’s a masterful skill that not everyone has, but Oakerson has it in buckets.
