With the excitement for the return of Saturday Night Live for its 42nd season at its highest, more news has come to light as to who’s going to be involved with the show going forward. We know our hosts and musical guests for the first two episodes. We also now know that Alec Baldwin will be taking on the role of Donald Trump for the foreseeable future. Now, according to TVLine, actress Emily Blunt is set to take on the hosting duties for the October 15th episode of the late-night sketch show. This comes just a week after the release of her new film The Girl on the Train. Makes total sense.
The show will see new faces, new writers, and now more content. The new season will see a reduction of ads by 30%, removing two commercial breaks per episode in order to increase episode content. Our guess is that we’ll be seeing some product placement and sketches revolving around ads included in the show. Something that would benefit all three parties involved. The show, the advertisers, and of course the audience.
There’s no word yet on who the musical guest will be when Emily Blunt hosts, but I’m sure if you dig around and find out who has an album release coming out or has a song featured in a movie, you just might find your answer.
