Blake, a past winner of the Funniest Person in Austin contest and an alum of Just for Laughs’ New Faces showcase, is one of the most engaging people you’ll ever see onstage, a storyteller who keeps crowds in rapt attention with fine-tuned punchlines and expertly written bits, like the above riff on Batman (incidentally, his first album had a Batman mention, too).
A follow-up to 2015 full-length Bird Drugs, Blake’s latest six-track EP was recorded last December in Blake’s hometown of Austin, Texas.
This is the ninth release from Austin-based Sure Thing Records, who recently put out Rob Babcock’s This Guy and Brooke Van Poppelen’s Hard Feelings (plus Blake’s 2015 debut).
