It’s looking like Facebook is attempting to get into the original series game and its doing it with Nicole Byer. Word on the street is the social media giant is looking to revive Loosely, Exactly, Nicole, a one-and-done series that was canceled by MTV earlier this year. Now, Byer is working to bring a second season to the show.
If you’re wondering, “why this show?” or, “why Facebook?” It’s because Mina Lefevre, an executive VP from MTV who originally developed the show, left Viacom and is now head of development at Facebook. So it would be a reunion of Byer and Lefevre, as well as some of the cast and all of the creative team including showrunner Christine Zander. This would be an entirely new venture between Facebook and Byer, MTV would have no more involvement.
As of right now, no more details are public as Facebook expects a summer launch for its video slate.
