It’s official! According to Forbes, Jordan Peele’s Get Out is the second highest grossing horror film of all time.
In the category of R-rated scary movies, Get Out is dominating all previous competition – The Phantom Menace and The Lost World – to sit soundly behind The Exorcist as the second highest grossing.
As of early this week, Get Out has earned $164.65 million, far beyond its $5 million production budget.
Technically, Hannibal has a gross of just over $165 million, but Get Out will come out on top once this week’s box offices are settled.
And it’s still in theaters! As filmmaker Peele – and pretty much everyone who’s seen it – recommend, it’s definitely a movie to see on the big screen, so get out there if you haven’t already.
