Hannibal Buress, Tig Notaro, Pete Holmes to headline Boston Calling Comedy Experience

Boston Calling, a mostly-music festival that dabbles in other immersive art experiences, is expanding this year to include a Comedy Experience stage. Headliners include Hannibal Buress, Tig Notaro, Pete Holmes, and Eugene Mirman (the last two grew up just outside the city, incidentally), plus Kate Berlant and John Early, Josh Johnson, Bonnie McFarlane, and more.

On the music side of things, Boston Calling is killing it: they’re got The XX, Sigur Ros, Major Lazer, Mumford and Sons, Chance the Rapper, Bon Iver, Weezer, Solange, Run the Jewels, Tegan and Sara, Mac Demarco, Danny Brown, and many, many more. Of course, they’ve got some Boston classics, too, like Buffalo Tom, Piebald, and Converge.

The 2017 Boston Calling fest was supposed to included a slate of films curated by Natalie Portman (a Harvard alum and therefore an honorary Bostonian), but due to scheduling conflicts the programming had to be scrapped — which is good news for comedy fans, since it made room for the Comedy Experience lineup.

Boston Calling takes place May 26th-28th, and tickets are on sale now.
