Hasan Minhaj’s Homecoming King is one of the year’s most anticipated comedy specials: performed as a live one man show for several years, the highly praised hour is finally heading to Netflix later this month.
In Homecoming King, Daily Show correspondent Minhaj shares stories from his upbringing, as a first generation Indian-American, and his exploration of what he dubs the “New Brown America.” Among other things, Homecoming King explores “Minhaj’s arrival in the US, meeting his sister, interracial love, racism, bullying, and his family’s quest to achieve the elusive American Dream.”
The special’s release couldn’t come at a better time for Minhaj, who’s still riding the high of hosting the most high-profile White House Correspondents’ Dinner in history.
You can also watch Minhaj make his favorite sandwich (the “Minhaj a Trois”), in this new clip from GQ:
Homecoming King hits Netflix on May 23rd.
