Sound on Sound Fest has announced the lineup for the Globe Stage at the 2016 festival on November 4-6. The stage is named as a nod to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and is named such because of the festival’s unique location at the Sherwood Forest Faire, which is a fully operational renaissance festival site located east of Austin, Texas. The Globe Stage will host a mix of comedy acts, panel Q&A sessions and interviews with festival talent, live podcasts, and other non-traditional festival acts.
Sound on Sound Fest, the Globe Stage will feature a stellar lineup including comedy performances by Tim Heidecker, Joe Mande, Todd Barry, Johnny Pemberton, Ever Mainard, The New Movement Theater, Altercation Punk Comedy Hour, Fragile Rock, Laugh, Dammit!, and Greetings, From Queer Mountain. Additional comedy performances will be announced closer to the festival. The Globe Stage will also host live podcasts, including a taping of “Turned Out A Punk” hosted by Damian Abraham of Fucked Up and a live taping of “The Needle Drop” podcast. The stage will also host an original podcast created by the festival team dubbed “Sound on Sound Live” featuring several festival artists and special guests. The stage will be where the winner of the Air Sex Championships will be crowned, where two festival fans will get married, and where Austin band The Midgetmen will perform This is Spinal Tap. The fest also marks the debut of the Sound on Sound Fest variety show, The Two Knight Show, which will delight fest fans with surprise guests throughout the three-day event. Fans are invited to find love at the One Night Stand Comedy Dating Game and more surprises will be announced in the days leading up to the event.
