It’s not that surprising to learn that stand-up Jerry Seinfeld isn’t big on hugging — his semi-autobiographical sitcom character was plagued with obsessive cleanliness and fiercely defended his personal space, so it stands to reason the comic is probably pretty averse to strangers putting their hands all over him.
Singer Kesha must not have figured this, despite claiming to be a big fan of the comedians when she approached him at the David Lynch Foundation’s National Night of Laughter and Song, asking for a hug.
When Seinfeld declined, Kesha tried again, and again, and yes, it was pretty awkward, though both handled it gracefully. It all happened while Seinfeld was mid-interview with a reporter, who caught it all on tape.
