This past Saturday, former cast member (and current Tonight Show host) Jimmy Fallon returned to Saturday Night Live, for a fun evening of Trump-themed sketches and a few great cameos from musical guest Harry Styles.
Of course, since Fallon was such a longtime staple on the show, there were a few nods to his past roles, like an edition of “Celebrity Family Feud” that had him as both a young, bubbly and a current, creepy John Travolta. But the greatest throwback moment of the night came along with a visit from another former cast member, Rachel Dratch, who was there to co-star in a new installment of “Boston Teens.”
Denise “Zazu” McDenna and Pat “Sully” Sullivan made their SNL debut in 1999, appearing in over a dozen sketches together as a pair of very stereotypical Boston teens, hahdly ahn “R” to be found as they called each other retahded and queeyah before fiercely making out in awkward places (in front of teachers, at the dinner table…) It was great!
And this week, we learned our beloved Boston teens have grown into predictably crass Boston adults – and they’re still in love, married with a college-age daughter, Denise Nomar Sullivan, (played by Kate McKinnon) who, somehow, grew up smart enough to make it into Hahvahd.
“This place is beautiful!” Dratch exclaims as she stumbles onstage in the middle of a college tour. “It’s like Hogwarts, but with more Asians!” And we’re off! The sketch has everything you’d expect – really messy making out, very un-PC jokes – and it’s also got Fallon and Dratch learning how to Snapchat:
