Joe Zimmerman crushes, and shares a story about bombing on, “The Tonight Show”

On Friday night, stand-up Joe Zimmerman made his Tonight Show debut, and as a first-timer he couldn’t have asked for a better set. Out of the gate, Zimmerman gets an applause break, and from there it’s six minutes of his signature scratchy-voiced one-liners and affable stories — like his speculations on doomsday preppers, meditation, and whether or not he could talk his way out of a murder charge.

Zimmerman also shared a truly horrifying story for The Tonight Show’s “The Worst I Ever Bombed” series (below), about the time he had to perform for a gym full of bored teens, in the middle of a walk-a-thon (literally, in the middle of a room full of people walking the perimeter. Unsettling!)
