Writer and director Judd Apatow stopped by SiriusXM’s live taping of The Craig Ferguson Show at Largo in Los Angeles recently to talk about his latest film, The Big Sick, and to joke around a lot with the show’s Scottish host.
Apatow was joined onstage by fellow comics Thomas Lennon, Mary-Lynn Rajskub, John Thompson, and Claudia O’Doherty (who co-stars in another Apatow project, Netflix original series Love).
The comedian had a few of his own questions for host Ferguson — mostly about how accents work:

Eventually, Apatow and Ferguson do get into details about The Big Sick, the indie hit starring Kumail Nanjiani, Zoe Kazan, and Ray Romano that’s out in select theaters now (you’ll have to queue up the episode via SiriusXM On Demand to hear the complete conversation). Directed by Michael Showalter and written by stand-up Nanjiani and his real-life wife, Emily V. Gordon, the film bears many similarities to other recent Apatow productions that deliver much more than just easy laughs — like aforementioned rom-com Love, Pete Holmes’ introspective HBO series Crashing, and Chris Gethard’s recent, darkly comedic special, Career Suicide.
