Kevin Hart will star in a remake of John Candy’s classic summer family film The Great Outdoors, Deadline reports.
Originally released in 1988, The Great Outdoors features the late, great Candy alongside Dan Aykroyd and Annette Bening, with a script by legendary 80s comedy writer John Hughes. The story of one family trying to keep it together in close quarters during a not-so-peaceful summer retreat, The Great Outdoors is full of the stuff that made 80s movies great: crazy physical comedy, unending one-upping, and a great comedic pair, making us wonder who else will round out Hart’s reboot cast.
