We can’t think of a better pairing than Mary Holland and Carol Burnett. One of the sharpest improvisers and brightest character actors to come onto the scene in years, Holland’s playful energy has always drawn comparisons to many legends, including the iconic Burnett.
So it’s only natural that the two are slated to co-star in new ABC comedy Household Name, written by Michael Saltzman (Murphy Brown, Wings) and produced by Amy Poehler.
Holland will play one half of a couple, alongside Matt Oberg (The Real O’Neals, Veep), who find the home of their dreams – only to finds that it comes with a built-in roommate, en eccentric former actress played by Burnett.
Holland, a frequent performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles and a frequent guest on Comedy Bang! Bang!, is a member of improv supergroup Wild Horses (alongside Lauren Lapkus, Stephanie Allynne, and Erin Whitehead); she’s appeared at Just for Laughs Montreal, SXSW, and on about every “Comics to Watch” list that exists.
