Good news, fake Trump fans: Anthony Atamanuik’s brilliant political satire, The President Show, just got a seven-episode extension from Comedy Central.
It’s no surprise the network is ordering more episodes: the series, which debuted just last month, earned one million viewers in its first week on air.
And especially now that SNL is on break and we’re without Alec Baldwin’s weekly lukewarm Trump jabs, we’re in need of Atamanuik’s brand of thoughtfully provocative satire, the kind that’s so in tune with Trump it nearly predicts his next moves — and that’s so aware of his faults, it can eviscerate the President Elect with a single punchline.
With seven more episodes of The President Show coming this summer — in the same time slot, Thursdays right after The Daily Show — we can expect a lot more Trump yelling at the TV, like he loves to do:
