New Showtime series I’m Dying Up Here explores the legendary comedy scene of 1970s Los Angeles, a thinly veiled take on the golden years of the Sunset Strip’s Comedy Store. To help make the show as authentic as possible, plenty of comics landed supporting roles – like Jon Daly, Dom Irrera, and Rick Overton. And I’m Dying Up Here couldn’t have picked a better bunch of stars: stand-ups Al Madrigal, Andrew Santino, and Erik Griffin lead a cast that’s rounded out by Melissa Leo as an off-brand Mitzi Shore (mother of Pauly and matriarch of The Store).
To celebrate the summer run of I’m Dying Up Here (it premieres June 4th, FYI), Showtime will be releasing three brand new original stand-up specials from stars Madrigal, Santino, and Griffin.
Here’s when you can expect them:
May 5: Al Madrigal – Shrimpin’ Ain’t Easy
June 2: Andrew Santino – Home Field Advantage
July 6: Erik Griffin – The Ugly Truth
Trailers for all three specials are still coming – until then, take a look at the official trailer for I’m Dying Up Here:
