Last night, The Late Show time-traveled back to 2005 – back to when host Stephen Colbert was a correspondent on The Daily Show. And what good would reminiscing be without a little help from friends?
Colbert welcomed former Daily Show co-workers Jon Stewart, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Ed Helms, and Rob Corddry to The Late Show to reenact his last day in the Daily Show office, and share some stories from the good ol’ days.
The reunion was a reminder of how The Daily Show helped shape our current late night landscape, with so many former alums running their own wildly successful shows: between Bee on Full Frontal, Oliver on Last Week Tonight, and Colbert at The Late Show, former correspondents are ruling the airwaves — we just hope that Stewart (who ripped into Colbert for his recent on-air swearing) makes it back on air ASAP.
