Attention, comics! Submissions are officially open for the 14th annual StandUp NBC competition, a nationwide search for up-and-coming stand-ups with a focus on performers from diverse backgrounds.
Running since 2003, the competition has many notable alums on its roster, including Ron Funches, Eric Andre, and Hannibal Buress. While comics showcase in front of network execs, vying for callbacks to the final round, there’s no one “winner” – rather, top competitors will be offered an NBC talent holding deal, opportunities to tour the college circuit with NACA, and plenty of facetime with influential industry types.
The network will be hosting open calls in four cities – San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, and Philadelphia – and for the first time, they’ll be taking video submissions. Complete instructions on how to submit can be found on StandUp NBC’s site.
