Finally, some real diversity in late night: next week, Comedy Central debuts The Gorburger Show, the world’s very first talk show hosted by a pop culture-obsessed alien.
From the mind of, and voiced by, T.J. Miller, The Gorburger Show stars, “a giant blue extra-terrestrial who, after invading a Japanese television variety show and enslaving its staff, settles in as host in an attempt to understand what it means to be human.”
The first eight episode season will feature Larry King, Tig Notaro, Reggie Watts, Rob Corddry, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Kenny G., and a bunch of other unpredictable guests.
This may be The Gorburger Show’s first TV run, but before he landed a real late night slot, Gorburger was over on Funny or Die, interviewing musicians. Over two seasons, he freaked out Flea, Wayne Coyne, Carson Daly, Tegan and Sara, and more – and he even made an insane Christmas special with Andrew W.K.:
You can catch up on all the old episodes on YouTube.
The Gorburger Show premieres Sunday, April 9th at midnight on Comedy Central.
