This week on TV: Despite all odds, “The Conners” premieres

Tuesday night is the night to tune into ABC for a premiere of a slew of its new comedy programming. Well, sorta new programming. As the much-ballyhooed revival of the reboot of Roseanne post Roseanne firing is set to premiere. The Conners will premiere on Tuesday night. Call it a new series, call it a loose re-boot, but whatever you call it, we thank the TV gods that John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf are still sitcoming the hell outta the world.

If you hang around on ABC Tuesday night, you’ll also be treated to their actual new sitcom, The Kids Are Alright. A show about a large Irish-Catholic family with 8 boys set in the 1970s.
