Ex-maid of honor Eloise (Anna Kendrick) – having been relieved of her duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text – decides to hold her head up high and attend her oldest friend’s wedding anyway. She finds herself seated at the ‘random’ table in the back of the ballroom with a disparate group of strangers, most of whom should have known to just send regrets (but not before sending something nice off the registry). As everyone’s secrets are revealed, Eloise learns a thing or two from the denizens of Table 19. Friendships – and even a little romance – can happen under the most unlikely circumstances.
The cast of Table 19 joining Kendrick are Craig Robinson (This Is The End), Lisa Kudrow (BoJack Horseman), Stephen Merchant (Hello Ladies), Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Wyatt Russell (Everybody Wants Some!!), Amanda Crew (Silicon Valley), Maria Thayer (Those Who Can’t) and June Squibb (Dream Corp LLC). The film was directed by Jeffrey Blitz (The Office) with the story by Blitz alongside Mark and Jay Duplass (Animals.)
In the first trailer we see Kendrick find her way to Table 19 as each guest there introduces themselves to her. “I can smell the toilets from here, that’s how well we know the Bride and Groom” states Robinson’s character.
