Trevor Noah immediately took hold of the capacity crowd at Beacon Theatre on Saturday night and the audience never wavered for the duration of his nearly two hour set.
Noah displayed an exceptional ability to perform, running through a slew of characters, accents, and celebrity impersonations throughout the night. A highlight segment recounted how he imagines the first meeting between Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama. He deftly switched between his portrayal of each of the political figures, showcasing himself as one of the most dynamic comedic stage personalities in the game right now.
Surprisingly, Noah discussed the upcoming election only very briefly, most likely because the performance was being filmed for an upcoming comedy special and therefore needed to be more evergreen.
