This week, the world welcomed a brand new comedy podcast: Good One, hosted by New York Magazine’s resident comedy expert, Jesse David Fox.
In an era when podcasts have made it possible for us to hear so many confessional stories from comedians it feels like we’re all friends now, Good One does the near-impossible: it presents us with a fresh new way to fall in love with jokes all over again, as each episode highlights one comedian’s favorite joke and dives into the story behind it.
Fox got his start over at Splitsider, where he ran the site’s weekly podcast roundup and eventually became an editor; he’s logged countless hours listening to the best (and worst) comedy podcasts out there (including ours), and that practical education – along with his adept interviewing skills – makes him an exceptionally interesting host.
The first episode of Good One went up this week, with guest Jim Gaffigan walking Fox through a bit from his latest special, Cinco.
