This Week on TV we get back to summer normalcy post holiday. We get 9 premieres in total including A&E’s new talk show, Black and White.
The comedic talk show hosted by Christian Finnegan and Sherrod Small cover race in America through sketches and discussions with celebrity guests. The series kicks off Wednesday, July 13th on A&E at 10:30pm.
As for the rest of what’s coming our way this week, Difficult People returns to Hulu on Tuesday. The caustic Julie Klausner/Billy Eichner comedy kicks off its second season and will feature guest appearances by Tina Fey, Nathan Lane, Julianne Moore, Joel McHale, Fred Armisen, John Mulaney, and more. Two episodes stream today, with the remaining 8 arriving weekly.
On Thursday this week, HarmonQuest premieres on Seeso. Let’s take a look.
Then, truTV gives us a double dose of the Impractical Jokers. The series returns at 10pm only to be followed by a new special, Impractical Jokers: Inside Jokes at 11pm. On Friday, we get part one of SXSW Comedy with Natasha Leggero on Showtime. We were at the taping and it was fantastic. You aren’t going to want to miss this one. It premieres at 10pm. Then, on Amazon, Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street returns. The series follows Gortimer Gibbon and his two best friends, Mel and Ranger, as they navigate Normal Street, a seemingly ordinary suburb with hints of something magical just below the surface.
Finally, on Sunday, HBO brings back Ballers for season two at 10pm. Then at 10:30pm, HBO introduces us to the Vice Principals. Eastbound & Down creators Danny McBride and Jody Hill return with another comedy series that stars McBride and Walton Goggins as rival vice principals who compete for the top job at their high school after the principal (Bill Murray, in a cameo) announces his retirement. Busy Philipps and Shea Whigham also star. The show will run for 18 episodes (across two seasons) and then come to an end. Because that’s how they roll.
