It’s a big week of ABC as they’re rolling out three new sitcoms this week. Well, technically, two new sitcoms and one long-awaited reboot. Starting Tuesday evening, Jenna Fischer and Oliver Hudson star in Splitting Up Together about a couple getting a divorce yet attempting to still co-habitate. Immediately following the long-awaited re-boot of Roseanne. Whitney Cummings is executive-producing the ultimate blue collar sitcom with the same cast, and the same couch.
On Wednesday, ABC’s other freshman sitcom Alex, Inc. will premiere. It marks the return to television for Zach Braff. Alex, Inc. is about a man leaving his lucrative job to chase his dream to become a podcaster. The show is loosely based on the life of Alex Blumberg, the founder of Gimlet Media podcast network.
Also, Monday will kick off the two-part documentary series The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling on HBO. Judd Apatow executive-produced the documentary about his friend and mentor as he cracks open the diaries of the late, great Garry Shandling and tries to make some sense of the legendary comic.
