This week on TV: Kyle Kinane is “Loose in Chicago”

This week on TV we see the return of six shows and six premieres including a new special from Kyle Kinane and a new movie from the mind of Christopher Guest. As the weather gets weary and the sun sets sooner, there is more than enough for you to check out while you surf your couch.

On Monday, 2 Broke Girls returns to CBS for its sixth season with back-to-back new episodes.

On Tuesday, ABC dominates the night with three shows returning and one premiering. Fresh Off the Boat, The Middle, and The Real O’Neals are all back and will be supported by newcomer American Housewife. Originally titled The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport, this single-camera, voiceover-filled family comedy from Spin City and Bunheads writer Sarah Dunn centers on a woman (Mike & Molly‘s Katy Mixon) raising her “flawed” family in a wealthy community where everyone else is seemingly perfect. Ali Wong, Diedrich Bader, and Carly Hughes also star.

On Thursday, MTV premieres a new comedy called Acting Out, an outrageous comedy series in which the most irreverent established and up-and-coming comedians of today have their best stand-up routines acted out. We’ll see hilarious reenactments of the best bits, bringing new life to your favorite moments from stand up history.

Thursday continues with Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ returning to streaming service Seeso. Season 2 guests include Zach Galifianakis, Busy Philipps, Patton Oswalt, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Nick Kroll, Jack McBrayer, Casey Wilson, Randall Park, and Dave Foley.

Then be sure to check out the latest feature from Christopher Guest (Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman), a Netflix exclusive called Mascots. The movie centers on a competition to crown the best sports mascot in the world. The cast features many of Guest’s regulars as well as some new faces, including Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Ed Begley, Jr., Chris O’Dowd, Zach Woods, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, Maria Blasucci, John Michael Higgins, and Jim Piddock (who co-wrote the screenplay with Guest).

And finally on Thursday, This Is Not Happening returns to Comedy Central for a third season. Ari Shaffir invites comedians Louie Anderson, Rory Scovel, Maria Bamford, Brian Regan, Doug Stanhope and many others to tell their wildest stories this go-around.

On Friday, Haters Back Off premieres on Netflix. YouTube star Colleen Ballinger-Evans brings her Miranda Sings character to Netflix for this eight-episode series that also stars Angela Kinsey and Steve Little.

This Saturday we get the Emily Blunt hosted edition of Saturday Night Live with musical guest Bruno Mars. Then, Kyle Kinane returns to his native Chicago in his third Comedy Central special, Kyle Kinane: Loose in Chicago, premiering uncensored and with limited commercial interruption at Midnight ET/PT on Comedy Central. Filmed at the historic Metro, Kinane addresses the terrestrial woes that plague us all (or none of us whatsoever), such as open-carry fashion, surviving gout, and whether ketchup belongs on a hotdog.

Finally, on Sunday, Graves premieres on EPIX. Nick Nolte heads the cast of this political satire as a former president who has an epiphany 20 years after leaving office and decides to correct some of the damage his policies have done. At one point Susan Sarandon was set to co-star as his wife, but her role (vacated due to creative differences) is now played by Sela Ward. Harry Hamlin, Nia Vardalos, and Ernie Hudson will also appear in the series, which comes from Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote).
