Anthony Atamanuik, host of Comedy Central’s forthcoming President Show, stopped by Stephen Colbert’s Late Show desk last night to talk about his wildly acclaimed, unbelievably accurate impression of our fearful leader in chief.
In a rare moment out of character onscreen, Atamanuik showed the world why he’s been one of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater’s most beloved and talented performers for years, a masterful improviser and character actor whose ability to embody even the most bizarre characters (like a Hitler-loving clown raising a stable of overweight babies – don’t ask) with absolute ease.
But the secret to his Trump impression? He reveals it to Colbert here, and it’s surprisingly simple: to look as Trump-y as possible, just pretend you’re a shih tzu.
