A few years back Aaron Sorkin was working on an authorized biopic of the late, great Lucille Ball. He even had a star in mind to portray the first lady of comedy, Cate Blanchett. Now, the project has a home and it will be with the streaming service Amazon. The network acquired the flick, Lucy and Desi, which follows Ball's 20 year marriage to Desi Arnaz and through the iconic show I Love Lucy. The comedy duo's children Lucie Luckinbill and Desi Arnaz Jr. are attached to the project as producers.
An actor has yet to be cast to portray Arnaz in the film but there are some reports that Javier Bardem is being considered for the role. Until they decide on the male lead, there's no shoot or release schedule for the movie.
