Three of Comedy Central's biggest properties will have holiday specials this season, and all of them will pay tribute to the holiday in their own way.
On November 28th comes The Drunk History Christmas Special which will feature comedians Craig Anstett, Rich Fulcher, and Phil Hendrie who will all get properly hammered and tell us about the origins of some of our most favorite Christmas stories. Like the iconic holiday scenes as George Washington crossing the Delaware River on Christmas Day, a look at the Charles Dickens Christmas classic A Christmas Carol and Teddy Roosevelt’s ban on Christmas trees in the White House. Re-enactors include Rob Corddry, Colin Hanks, Ken Marino and Chris Witaske.
Then a few days later on November 30th, The Presidents Show will air I Came Up with Christmas: A President Show Christmas. Which is perfectly fitting considering our commander-in-chief really did create Christmas. He's hosting an hour of the "first-ever television show about Christmas," which is going to be better than any other show because they don't exist. Alongside the Vice President (played by Peter Grosz) as they celebrate the holiday with a cavalcade of friends old and new in a night of comedy, music, jingle bells, and dog whistles as they try to make this the whitest Christmas ever.
To end the year that is 2017, The Daily Show will present, The Yearly Show 2017, an hour-long special taping in NY at the Gramercy Theater hosted by Trevor Noah and serve as a capping off everything that happened in the year 2017. The Daily Show's The Yearly Show will premiere on December 18th.
