It was only a matter of time before someone did a series about crypto. Now, T.J. Miller and Jon Heder will be starring in a new animated web series from Web3’s Toonstar division, titled Fortun3.
The series finds Miller playing a Sam Bankman-Fried type character. Bankman-Fried, of course, is the founder of FTX, a crypto company that has been met with controversy and the founder has been indicted on charges of money laundering and fraud. The series marks Miller’s return to acting following the allegations of abuse that have come out against him in the last few years.
“Today’s entertainment consumers expect more than one-sided, passive entertainment. They want to participate in the storytelling and engage with other fans in a way that begins to resemble gaming models,” said John Attanasio, co-founder and CEO of Toonstar. “Our interactive model of storytelling has benefits far beyond more engaged fans. It’s a model for Hollywood that can uncover new IP and unlock new revenue streams.”
There’s definitely lots of potential in the crypto world for these type of stories to be told, including the controversy behind the scenes. So we look forward to seeing more of them in the future!
