Hannibal Buress made a commercial for the car rental app Turo

If anyone is an avid listener of Hannibal Buress' podcast Handsome Rambler, you'll be happy to learn this partnership exists. Very early on into Buress' podcast career he grew tired of reading ads for his podcast, so he decided to start rapping, singing, and making small musical songs based on the ad he was supposed to read. Since his co-host is DJ Tony Trimm, Buress was able to have these ads set to music and a signature bit was formed. Ever since Hannibal just sang the ads.

On later episodes of the podcast Buress would discuss a new app he discovered called Turo. The app allows you to rent a car and use it for a specified period of time for a specified cost. Specifically telling stories about how he's rent a car like a Tesla to take his nieces and nephew to the zoo. On the app you could find exotic cars like a Tesla or in Hannibal's case for this commercial, a Delorean or maybe just a regular ol' Prius. Make the deal and you have a ride. The app got wind of Buress being a fan and they reached out and began to advertise. That turned into Buress agreeing to film a commercial for Turo. He grabbed Tony Trimm, took a song from the podcast, and headed out to the burrito stand, and here we are today.

Special guest cameo by comedian Byron Bowers. Also, here's an extended version of just the music video.

If you think this is all kinda ridiculous, that's because it is and that's what we love about Hannibal Buress, his ability to embrace the silly. Hop in the whip and you go. As a special treat, here's a behind-the-scenes look at the video shoot.
