For the last 2 years, the wildly popular Legion of Skanks podcast (Big Jay Oakerson, Luis J. Gomez, Dave Smith) held the Skankfest, comedy festival at the Creek And The Cave in Long Island City. The festival was loaded with some of the best in stand-up comedy boasted the likes of Jim Gaffigan, Artie Lange, Doug Stanhope, Bert Kreischer, Reggie Watts, Robert Kelly, and Ron Bennington as well as podcasts from YKWD, The Bonfire, Tuesdays with Stories, and Kill Tony. There was also specialty programming like What's Your Fuckin' Deal!?, the Naked Roast, and The Goddamn Comedy Jam.
After the festival clearly outgrew its space of the Creek and The Cave, festival organizers discussed the expansion plan... would they take it on the road? What about a larger venue in NY? Well as of this morning, they revealed the decision to have year 3 of Skankfest take place over the course of two days at a new location in New York, one that's 3x the size of the previous location.
On Saturday July 14th and Sunday July 15th Skankfest 3 will live at the BK Bazaar, with a kick off party and special shows Friday night July 13th at The Creek and Cave. There will be three stages of programming happening simultanously as well as karaoke rooms, pool tables, video games, and more.
