Two offbeat sketch show veterans reunited last night on The Late Show when Stella alum Michael Showalter joined host Stephen Colbert, who got his start alongside Amy Sedaris in a little show called Exit 57.
They also, apparently, co-starred in a long forgotten show called Random Play together. If you haven't seen it, don't worry, they hadn't either -- until last night, when Showalter brought a VHS copy of an episode over to The Late Show studios, and we all got to experience a particularly artistic sketch they starred in together.
Both men have come a long way since the 90s, with Colbert (obviously) on top of the late night ratings charts, and Showalter celebrating the release of his latest film, The Big Sick.
He's also one of the stars of Wet Hot American Summer, the cult hit film that recently got an original limited series -- Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp -- on Netflix, with another -- Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later -- on the way.
With each installment of Wet Hot taking place at a very specific time, it can be hard to keep track of exactly when everything's happening, so handily, Showalter clarified the timeline of the film and series for Colbert (and the rest of us).
