3 Specials to Watch This Mother’s Day

3 Specials to Watch This Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day, everybody! As a comedian, being a parent means that you’ll always have a wealth of material to choose from onstage. There’s always going to be some new perspective that you present to the audience.

In honor of Mother’s Day, we’re taking a look at three specials that tackle the subject of becoming a mom.

Suzi Ruffell: Snappy

British comedian Suzi Ruffell has been getting a lot of acclaim for her stand-up in the UK the last few years. In her new special, Snappy, she talks all about settling down (but not settling), becoming a mother (without becoming mumsy) and still worrying about everything. Check out her latest special from 800 Pound Gorilla Media here.

Gina Brillon: Mind Your Business

Whether you’ve seen Gina Brillon in a club, her previous stand-up specials, or on America’s Got Talent, as soon as you see her comedy, you won’t forget it. In her latest special, Brillon tackles becoming a mother during the pandemic, the evolving challenges of parenthood, the rising costs of travel, and the complexities of our ever-changing social climate. Check out her special from 800 Pound Gorilla Media here.

Jen Fulwiler: Maternal Instinct

As made clear during her stand-up special that came out in 2024, Jen Fulwiler is not cut out to be a mother. She’s messy, lazy, disorganized, and has no maternal instincts. A former computer programmer who once lived in a chic part of downtown, she now finds herself in the suburbs, driving her six children around in a minivan. You can watch the special here
