Anthony Jeselnik inks development deal with Comedy Central that includes new show and podcast

Anthony Jeselnik is returning to Comedy Central, the network that took a chance on him a while back and created the criminally underrated late night talk show, The Jeselnik Offensive. Then the network cancelled said show when he did something... well, a little too offensive.

Comedy Central announced today they've entered into a multi-platform development deal with Jeselnik which is their first time collaborating since the 2 seasons of Offensive, an album on Comedy Central Records Shakespeare, and a stand-up special, Caligula.

As part of the deal Jeselnik will star in and executive produce an untitled, half-hour TV series that will use Comedy Central’s vast library of stand-up as a springboard for conversation, insight and humor with well-known comics and its initial run will last six episodes.

and host a weekly podcast called The Jeselnik and Rosenthal Vanity Project. If that name sounds familiar to you it's because back in 2016 Jeselnik and his best friend and NFL Network analyst Gregg Rosenthal co-hosted the similarly-titled The Rosenthal and Jeselnik Vanity Project podcast for the NFL Network. The duo are at it again discussing their shared appreciation for all things pro football.

The podcast will join Comedy Central’s Global Podcast Network line-up beginning Tuesday, September 11th and have a digital video component to it that will air on Comedy Central social platforms. The deal also encompasses Jeselnik’s role as a judge on Roast Battle which just wrapped its 3rd season a few weeks back.

“Anthony’s sardonic humor and critical eye are a big part of what makes him such an incredible comedian,” said Sarah Babineau and Jonas Larsen, Executive Vice Presidents and Co-Heads of Talent and Development, Comedy Central. “Those attributes are also why he’s a perfect fit for the host’s chair in his own series, the Roast Battle judge’s chair, and the podcast booth.”

“Sometimes the best move is a lateral move!” said Jeselnik.
