Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, stars of Comedy Central's bff-com Broad City, posted a very patriotic edition of their web series, "Hack into Broad City," earlier this week: a clip in which the pair put on their very own hot dog eating contest.
A fairly recent, and very disgusting 4th of July tradition, that gained popularity thanks to Coney Island's annual competition (hosted by regional hot dog magnate, Nathan's), the hot dog eating contest has quickly become one of our nation's most beloved pastimes. Yesterday, professional overeater Joey Chestnut dominated his 10th contest, setting a new event record of 72 dogs consumed in 10 minutes.
Abbi and Ilana don't go quite as far in their own DIY version -- actually, Abbi abstains altogether, for completely understandable reasons -- but Ilana is game as always, and manages to make it through a few, which is pretty fun to watch.
Broad City returns to Comedy Central for its fourth season on August 23rd.
