CBS has give a pilot green light to a sitcom from comedian Chris Distefano. The comedy will star Distefano and will be produced by Carter Bays & Criag Thomas, the duo behind the hit CBS series, How I Met Your Mother.
The comedy will be loosely based on Distefano's life, an Italian man with Puerto Rican wife and child, so expect a blend of those types of familial jokes to permeate the show. An Italian American from Brooklyn and a new dad who married a Puerto Rican woman, Distefano centers on Izzy and Chris (Distefano), two 20-somethings raising their newborn daughter and merging their loud families.
The pilot of the show is a multi-camera/hybrid in the style of HIMYM and will be directed by HIMYM director/executive producer Pam Fryman.
