Popular Los Angeles comedian has passed away today at the age of 38. The news of his passing was first shared by The Comedy Bureau.
“Today, comedy lost a truly, unabashedly, unique voice in one Richard Bain,” The Comedy Bureau wrote when sharing the news. “Bain’s relentless commitment to being silly made him stand out in any room he played. His unshakeable calm juxtaposed with how utterly zany he could get was something we’d look forward to any time he took the stage or was even just hanging in the green room/wings/bar/party/etc. Bain was just a delightful constant in and around comedy.“
Having started out performing in Portland, Oregon, Bain moved Los Angeles in 2011 to try his hand at it there. Over the last 9 years, he became a staple of the comedy scene. Some of his credits include The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, as well as being featured at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, the L.A. Riot Comedy Festival, and being one of the New Faces of 2014 at the famed Just For Laughs in Montreal. The loss of his death is clearly evident by the outpouring of love he received from the community.
Richard Bain ruled and was so fun to watch go up. RIP @DickBain you are missed man.

Richard Bain was so nice and chill, and very funny. I think about his "hey guys, who else never washes their legs?" joke EVERY TIME I take a shower. RIP, what a bummer.

RIP Richard Bain. A funny, talented & kind human being who I knew from my early days doing comedy in the Pacific Northwest. Every time a comic dies, we all feel it. This one hurts a little more. https://t.co/Hfclo589EE

I’m an affable guy but I freeze up at comedy parties because I don’t want anyone to misinterpret my affability as “networking.” Richard Bain was the type of comedy acquaintance who would see my sullen ass at a party and immediately start talking to me. This meant a lot to me.
