Bat-tle! Bat-tle! Bat-tle! Bat-tle!
A third season of Roast Battle is coming to Comedy Central. The show, in which co-creator Brian Moses referees a bunch of comedians taking comedic jabs at each other is headed back to the ring. Executive producer and judge, Jeff Ross will also return for season 3.
But the show which was born in the Belly Room of The Comedy Store is now just too big to contain to one continent so it's going international. Comedy Central is taking the show to Mexico with a new local version of the format called Comedy Central Duelo de Comediantes. Additionally, the show will air in the U.K. and South Africa.
A U.K. version previously aired but a judging lineup has changed as Russell Brand will not return as a judge but the other two judges, Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan will for the five-episode airing. The South African version will also get a sophomore season. John Vlismas will be Roastmaster and local comedians Tumi Morake and Kagiso Lediga are on the judging panel for the seven-episode season.
"They say the line between love and hate is very thin. Roast Battle makes it nearly transparent," said Kent Alterman, president of Comedy Central.
